Take a Load Off

Posted by patty  Published in Uncategorized

Today I had a deep down, nap-taking, couch lounging kind of rest–the kind of rest that leaves you feeling more cheerful than you realized you had the capability of being.  It’s crazy how tired you can get.  The constant running after a crawling baby, policing the toilet so that he doesn’t get into it, cleaning [...]

Teething Tot Affects Mother’s Nerves

Posted by patty  Published in Uncategorized

Last night was a productive evening. I wrote an article, edited and sumbitted it. It was something that had been stewing for a while, but I finally felt the urge to get it immediately onto paper. I’m hoping the magazine I sent it to likes it as much as I did! Today is quickly turning [...]

Saying it like I see it

Posted by patty  Published in Uncategorized

When I first started getting articles published in church magazines, I was shocked! I really didn’t think they’d accept what I had to say because I wasn’t mincing words. I said it like I saw it. I didn’t try to be appropriate or spiritual. I said things like, “I’m a second generation Adventist and I [...]

Folding Back the Flaps

Posted by patty  Published in Uncategorized

I woke up this morning feeling free!  The sun was shining in the window, my husband was still snoring, and my son was babbling away, trying to wake up his dad.  My surroundings have not changed, but something certainly has. I loved my single life in Toronto.  I loved that city!  I loved the energy, [...]

Bathtub in the Living Room

Posted by patty  Published in Uncategorized

Right now, my son is being pulled around the house in his little plastic bathtub by his dad.  Jr is squealing, and my husband is laughing.  Jr is gripping his squeaking bathtub toys as he is pushed across the carpet. He loves this!  It’s so nonesense!  It’s so fun!  Bathtubs don’t belong in the living [...]

Minus One Gall Bladder

Posted by patty  Published in Uncategorized

Before going to the hospital for gall bladder surgery, I managed to finish up my last bit of freelance work that has been on my plate for a while.  What a good feeling!  That meant that I could start working on my latest novel as a reward to myself for giving up my gall bladder. [...]

Thrilled to go under the knife…

Posted by patty  Published in Uncategorized

Thanks to prayer, I got a call this morning from the hospital saying that they can squeeze in my surgery on Wednesday.  Yes, as in two days from now!  I’m really thrilled.  Having had some more gall stone attacks in the last few days, I’ve been quite grumpy.  Not only do they hurt like the [...]

Book Release

Posted by patty  Published in Uncategorized

My newest book, Mary: Call Me Blessed, has been released!  I’m very excited about this book.  You can see it in the “My Books” section of this website.  I loved writing this book.  It fascinated me!  Mary, the mother of Christ, was an intriquing character.  And while i knew that I couldn’t mess with her [...]

Cold, Hard Cash

Posted by patty  Published in Uncategorized

Freelance writing gigs, in my limited experience, are necessary for the cold, hard cash.  Don’t get me wrong–I do enjoy working on freelance projects.  They are still writing projects and they pay much more readily than novels.  In fact, I’m always on the look out for more freelance work.  I hope to one day be [...]

Mother of the Year Award

Posted by patty  Published in Uncategorized

Over one weekend I both earned and lost it!  The other weekend was pretty intense.  It started out with me getting gall stones.  Wow.  That really hurts, for the record!  Now, I’ve never given birth naturally, but I can tell you that gall stones hurt more than recovering from a c-section, and I just about [...]
